Documentation for mission: Seizure of Assets Creator: Jonathan Chen (MastrMind3@aol.com) Creation Date: 7-96 Player: Nod Map: Med.-Large (45x60), Temperate Theater Requires: Command & Conquer, Covert Operations Tested On: 486DX2/66 Patch v1.19 Difficulty: Challenging Filename: SEIZURE.ZIP File Contents: SCB51EA.INI, SCB51EA.BIN, SEIZURE.TXT Installation: Unzip the ZIP file then copy the INI and BIN file to your C&C directory, and just start up the game, and if you have Covert Operations, the mission should appear in the NEW MISSIONS menu. Alternatively, you can replace files using MIXMAN which is described at several places if you do not have Covert Operations. Note: A savegame was not included to save upload/download time and because that would cause you to miss out on the opening cutscenes. Mission Description: To continue our effort for the true freedom of mankind, we need additional funds to support our war machines. GDI has a Tiberium refining center here where they have been stockpiling Tiberium and liquid credits. You are to establish a base, then destroy their refining center and pillage their storehouses. Do not return until you have at least 25,000 spendable credits. In the northwest, a crate of flares was air-dropped. When you need, you may use these to call in some additonal reinforcements. Level Description: When you come into the area to build your base, GDI is not yet aware of your presence and won't realize it themselves until some A-10s about 30 min. into the game do a flyby. In the meantime, DON'T advertise your presence until you've already been found out anyway. If you do let them know your presence very early, you'll be overwhelmed very quickly. By advertising your presence, that includes even going around their base with a Stealth Tank. They won't see the Steath Tank, but they can see the trails it leaves behind so they know that you're in the area. What else advertising means I'll let you find out for yourself. In this mission, GDI has two Weapons Factories and two Barracks, so as soon as you advertise yourself or are found by A-10s, there'll be a non-stop flow from the GDI base. So MAKE SURE you don't advertise yourself before neccesary and in the first 30 min. or so, build as fast as you can concen- trating on building defenses at the river crossings. If you don't take my advice, the Challenging difficulty level of this mission changes to somewhere near impossible. Known Bugs: A couple times I mention you need 25,000 LIQUID or SPENDABLE credits in order to complete the mission. The problem was that apparently the computer seems to only count money that you get out of money crates or from selling things, NOT the credits represented by Tiberium in your silos. Thanks to: Andrew Griffin and Vladan Blato for the software they both created and for being nice enough to answer the editing questions I posted. Han Brunger for a useful INI editing manual. Jeroen Ritmeijer and Richard Heesbeen for the really cool CCMAP. Finally: If you like this mission, or you hate it, please send me a comment at MastrMind3@aol.com. In particular, please send anything which may help me create future missions. Thanks.
